First it was Lamar Odom. Now Sam Cassell suspended for a game for his tomahawk chop he planted on Rajon Rondo Wednesday night. Here’s the Clippers hometown link to the story. I thought it was interesting and smart how the officials waited to review the play on the monitor to decide to toss Cassell out of the game. Sometimes the video makes the replay look much worse than the actual action was - in this case I think ejection and one game suspension is fair. I wouldn’t want or expect more. As for Cassell coming to Boston or just plain getting bought out (step one in coming to the c’s), the guard says he is Not agressively seeking a buyout but that just sounds like saving face to me. Again, the latimes with the hometown scoop.

C’s go again without Garnett tonite and I don’t foresee it being a problem (isn’t it great to be able to say that even if it is against Minnesota?)

Also, congrats to the Pats - the vaunted bye week is next. Even not at their best they’re the best.

From the NBA, Yahoo’s got a recap of a NY Post article about breaking up the Nets. Personally, I would give them another shot (why not?) and maybe add somebody for a run because they should be right there. Other players that have been mentioned in rumors recently that we haven’t mentioned on the show…Sam Cassell (because the Clippers stink but still unlikely), Damon Stoudamire (or he could be bought out thus no trade required), and others the Celtics would never think of getting like Tracy McGrady or Jermaine O’Neal…

There’s still a month til the deadline and I figure we’ll know how much the Pats won by in the Super Bowl (or lost - because it could happen) before we see a new player donning Green.
