About Celticscast

(from left to right) Chris Villani and Andrew Ardini on the day of their graduation from Syracuse

Over the past several months, the Celtics and their fans have gone from the mind numbing doldrums of "tank fest 2007" in the hopes of landing a top 2 draft choice, the gut wrenching sting of watching the ping pong balls once again smite the boys in green, and the sudden and euphoric rejuvenation of the creation of a new "Big Three" in Boston. A once successful and always proud franchise is headed towards a new era, and two die-hard Celtics fans are here to bring you the latest news and banter as the 2007-2008 season unfolds.

It's totally free...from our brilliant (albeit sometimes wacky) minds to your computer or iPod. Celticscast, part of the Boston Sportscast Network, comes to you twice a week during the season with the good, the bad, the best, and the green and white of your Boston Celtics. Our mp3 casts are downloadable so you can listen anywhere, anytime.

Every Sunday and Thursday, check out Celticscast.com for the latest installment, and be a part of the show! Dial up our call-in number, (617) 934-0268, or reach us via email at hosts@celticscast.com anytime and leave your name, location, and a bit of wisdom and we may just put it on the air.

About Andrew Ardini

Andrew Ardini remembers some of the glory days of the Big Three - at least the original Big Three - but also remembers the M.L. Carr, Dino Radja, Rick Pitino and Vitaly Potapenko eras as well.

Andrew went to Syracuse University to get a degree in Broadcast Journalism as well as watch some winning basketball over the last few years, but is excited to see what the C's can muster this season. He's a fan of the Sox, C's, B's and pretty much any college hoops team in New England (with BC and UConn being the main exceptions).

Currently, Andrew is an announcer for the AAA Syracuse Chiefs baseball team as well as the voice of Babson College hockey - plenty to keep busy with in addition to following every step the Celtics take.

His favorite Celtics memory is standing in the brand new Garden in 1996 while the Celtics in-bounded the ball with half a second left off the backboard for a tip-in win over the Nuggets.

About Chris Villani

To say sports is the major passion in Chris's life would be something of an understatement. His first Celtics game, during elementary school, was a season opening whopping of the Timberwolves, and he's been hooked ever since.

Now for the obligatory "serious" paragraph attempting to demonstrate he may actually be qualified to be on the air. Chris is a graduate of the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University where he covered SU sports for WAER and WJPZ radio stations.

His career highlights at the 'Cuse included calling the 2007 NIT after a week of sullen drinking in mourning of the Orange being left out of the big dance, interviewing Jim Brown and somehow managing not to pass out, and covering not one, not two, but three Syracuse football victories (or exactly one half of its total number of wins in the past three years).

Currently, Chris is the play by play voice for Harvard men's basketball. He also works at 1510 "the Zone" in Boston as a producer and on-air talent and is frequently heard doing sports updates during games and co-hosting sports talk shows.

In his spare time, Chris enjoys cursing while walking along well manicured patches of grass with fourteen often ill-behaved metal sticks and a frequently lost dimpled ball. He also likes playing the guitar while singing off-key, working on both of his swing dance moves, and lifting weights at the gym in a futile attempt to impress the ladies.
